Transfer: Frank Leboeuf rules out Chelsea, Liverpool, names 2 clubs that could sign Mbappe
Former France international, Frank Leboeuf, has ruled out Chelsea and Liverpool while naming the two clubs that could sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain next year.
Mbappe’s current contract with PSG will expire at the end of the season.
The France captain is yet to sign a new deal with the French Ligue 1 champions and he is keen to leave the club as a free agent.
Mbappe has been linked with the likes of several top European clubs, including Real Madrid.
But Leboeuf believes Manchester City and Bayern Munich are Mbappe’s realistic destinations if Real Madrid fail to sign him.
“Manchester City or Bayern Munich could potentially move for Mbappe, but I think those two clubs already have great players,” Leboeuf told CasinosEnLigne (as quoted by GOAL).
He added: “I think Liverpool could be an option, but I’m not sure Mbappe will want to live there! That’s all due respect to the Scousers!“Let’s be realistic – Chelsea are a mid table club. Attracting players will be tough and players like Mbappe won’t want to come.
“The big players want to play in the [UEFA] Champions League. Arsenal had that problem for years, and so did Manchester United. Top players won’t come to Chelsea because the club has fallen.”
